Bless His Noodley Appendages!

In Austria one of the strangest fights for religious freedom has come to an end: Niko Alm, a self-described "Pastafarian," fought for three years for the right to wear a pasta strainer on his head in his driver's license photo.

His argument? Alm claimed he belonged to the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster and wearing the strainer was part of his religion.

May the Pastafarians make an ever bigger splash.

1) After denying so vehemently that atheism is not a religion the Pastafarian sect of atheism fights for equal rights to freely express their religious beliefs. As Niko Alm states it, his goal is for “Pastafarianism to become an officially recognised faith in Austria.”

2) The Flying Spaghetti Monster actually proved was that some people are utterly ignorant of natural theology / general revelation. These propose the best that science and philosophy have offer as to the universe’s coming into being. They propose that the universe had a creator and even identify some of the creator’s characteristics.

What I find almost as amusing as the silliness of the Flying Spaghetti, is that you take the ridiculous notion seriously enough to actually go to the trouble to compose a reasoned response to it's total unreasonableness.

That said, I did take a moment to look at your link which is interesting. And I don't necessarily dispute it, but I did have the following reaction to the ascertions made:

"Since time began to exist: whatever caused it is timeless, or eternal. It does not follow nor is it bound by the constraints of linear, chronological, time.
Since space began to exist: whatever caused it is spaceless, not limited by spatial dimensions, not restricted by locality.
Since matter began to exist: whatever caused it is immaterial, non-physical, without extension in space, or spirit.
Time is what makes cause and effect relationships possible since, in time, an effect follows a cause. Since whatever caused the universe existed in a timeless state it is uncaused.
Since whatever caused it did cause it, it is a necessary being, a non-contingent being, the finality of a finite regress.
Since whatever caused the universe did cause it, that is; made something happen or caused an effect, whatever caused it is volitional, self-conscious and personal (meaning exhibiting characteristics of personhood or personality-conceiving plans, making decisions and taking actions).
Moreover, whatever caused the minutely fine-tuned universe is highly intelligent, perhaps omniscient and immensely powerful or perhaps omnipotent."

Well maybe, or not.
